Key advantages
- Very high sound absorption across a broad frequency range
- Significantly reduces sound transmission between spaces
- Suitable for the most demanding acoustic requirements
- Fire-resistant – non-combustible (Class A1)
- Withstands temperatures above 1000°C
- High stability – does not settle over time
- Moisture-resistant and does not crumble
Why this product
Stone wool with a density of 120 kg/m³ is designed for projects that demand maximum acoustic performance, such as studios, equipment rooms, and public or industrial buildings. The 100 mm thickness is the maximum in the series and provides the highest acoustic mass of all the options, making it particularly suitable for spaces with stringent low-frequency sound absorption requirements. The high density keeps the material stable within plasterboard systems, which makes it suitable for advanced acoustic systems.
Technical description
ROCKWOOL stone wool is made from natural basalt, which is melted at high temperatures and processed into mineral fibres with an open structure.
This structure enables:
- Sound energy absorption
- Reduced sound transmission between spaces
- Improved acoustic performance in plasterboard systems
A density of 120 kg/m³ at a thickness of 100 mm provides a combination of:
- Exceptionally high sound absorption
- The highest acoustic mass in the series
- Long-term structural stability
The product also provides:
- Thermal insulation
- Fire protection (Class A1 – non-combustible)
It also does not break down or rot and is not affected by microorganisms.
Applications
- Advanced plasterboard walls
- Studios and music rooms
- Meeting rooms and offices
- Hotels and public buildings
- Hospitals and educational institutions
- Complex acoustic systems
- Industrial buildings
