Detailed description

Key advantages

  • Very high sound absorption (up to NRC ≈ 1.0)
  • Reduces sound transmission between spaces
  • Fire-resistant – non-combustible (A1)
  • Withstands temperatures above 1000°C
  • Does not absorb moisture or crumble
  • Does not attract pests or rot
  • Remains stable for years without settling

Why this product

Stone wool with a density of 100 kg/m³ is designed for projects that demand exceptionally high acoustic performance, such as noise-sensitive rooms or advanced plasterboard systems.

The high density delivers more effective sound absorption across a broad frequency range, especially in combination with double plasterboard walls or advanced insulation systems.

Technical description

ROCKWOOL Safe’n’Silent Pro stone wool is made from basalt (volcanic rock), which is melted and spun into mineral fibres with an open structure that absorbs sound energy and reduces sound transmission.

Material properties:

  • Non-combustible (Class A1)
  • Melting point of approx. 1000°C
  • Fibrous structure that provides high sound absorption

The product is designed for plasterboard wall, partition and ceiling applications, and provides a combination of:

  • Sound insulation
  • Thermal insulation
  • Fire protection

In addition, the material retains its structural stability over time and does not settle inside the wall, ensuring consistent performance throughout the life of the building.

Applications

  • Plasterboard walls (interior partitions)
  • Bedrooms and offices
  • Studios and sound rooms
  • Hotels and public buildings
  • Hospitals and educational institutions
  • Acoustic ceilings
  • Industrial buildings
