Key advantages
- Very high sound absorption (including low frequencies)
- Significantly reduces sound transmission between spaces
- Suitable for exceptionally demanding acoustic requirements
- Non-combustible – does not burn (Class A1)
- Withstands temperatures above 1000°C
- High stability – does not settle over time
- Moisture-resistant and does not attract pests
Why this product
Stone wool with a density of 120 kg/m³ is designed for projects that require particularly advanced sound insulation.
It significantly improves the performance of plasterboard walls and ceilings, and is suitable for studios, meeting rooms, public buildings and anywhere noise control is needed.
Technical description
ROCKWOOL stone wool is made from natural basalt rock, melted at high temperatures and processed into mineral fibres with an open structure.
This structure enables:
- Sound energy absorption
- Reduced sound transmission between spaces
- Improved reverberation time (RT) within the space
A density of 120 kg/m³ provides:
- High resistance to airflow (airflow resistivity)
- Improved low-frequency absorption
- High mechanical stability
The product acts as an absorptive element within a system and, combined with double plasterboard walls, improves overall sound insulation performance (STC).
In addition, the material is non-combustible (A1) and has a melting point above 1000°C, so it also provides significant fire protection.
Applications
- Advanced plasterboard walls
- Studios and music rooms
- Meeting rooms and offices
- Hotels and public buildings
- Hospitals and educational institutions
- Acoustic ceilings
- Industrial buildings
